It’s National Handwriting Day! Since 1977, we have celebrated this special day on the 23rd January, but, what is National Handwriting Day?

Today, we put our phones, iPads, laptops and any other form of technology down and instead put pen to paper.

You can write down your thoughts, write a short story or poem, start a journal or even write a letter to someone special. A handwritten message adds a sentimental and personal touch the receiver will cherish.

Did you know… handwriting increases creativity? This is because we slow down when writing and drawing by hand, helping us to consider the big picture and come up with creative ideas.

Take a look at some ways you can celebrate National Handwriting Day.
