If you’re a cat lover, this is the perfect day for you! International Cat Day is a day to honour the friendship humans and cats share. How will you be celebrating?

What is International Cat Day?

Every year on the 8th August, we celebrate International Cat Day. Created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare, we not only celebrate the friendship we share with the animals, but it is also a day to advocate the safety, protection and well-being of cats.

How You Can Celebrate?

There are many ways you can celebrate International Cat Day; why not:

  • Post videos and pictures of your cat on your social media with the hashtag #InternationalCatDay
  • Volunteer at a cat rescue centre
  • Donate food, blankets, toys to shelters
  • Buy your cat a new toy

Cats are one of the UK’s most popular pets. Today is the day to show your cat a little extra care, love and attention.
