National Pet Month!

Hello fellow animal lovers! As we are now coming towards the end of celebrating National Pet Month, we’re going to dive into how you can celebrate this pawsome and exciting time, along with some fabulous crafting inspiration featuring the Muddy Paws & Curious Cats Collections.

Just before we get to that, let's explain what National Pet Month is all about…

What is National Pet Month and why do we celebrate it?

National Pet Month was created to celebrate and raise awareness of the benefits of pets, promote responsible pet ownership and to increase the welfare of all companion animals around the country.

Even though this annual celebration takes place from the 1st of April to the 10th of May, animal and pet care is something that is really important to consider all year round!

How can you celebrate National Pet Month?

There are so many ways you can celebrate National Pet Month this year so we’ve listed down a few ideas to inspire you:

• Pamper & spoil your pet - Spend some extra time out of your day to give them some attention with a cuddle, hug or even a belly tickle!

• Take your pet out for a day trip - If it’s lovely weather outside, take them out to their favourite park or beach. It makes a great day out for everyone who takes part.

• Treats - One shake of their favourite treat bag never fails to get them by your side and pawsitively excited!

• Donate to your local animal shelter and/or charities - It’s always good to give a helping hand wherever possible, so why not donate to your local animal charity today?

Along with the help of our own Hunkydory's Cat Hollis, we have put together an exciting card craft featuring the popular Muddy Paws Collection and our brand NEW Curious Cats Collection!

How to make your own Curious Cats & Muddy Paws card

What you'll need:

- A4 Gold Mirri 

- The Muddy Paws Collection & Curious Cats Collection (Toppers, Sentiments, Papers & Acetate from either)

- Craft Glue

- Foam Pads

- Red Liner Tape

Now onto the steps!

.

• Step 1: First, matt & layer 7" of gold mirri and papers from the collection of your choice. Here we used the beautiful sky blue bunting paper from the Muddy Paws Collection.

• Step 2: Add a frame from the Topper sheet to the centre of your card front (this will sit undeath the main toppers that are to go on next). 

.

• Step 3: Layer up your favourite Toppers from either of the collections onto different layers of foam pads to create some dimention.

• Step 4: Add on your own selection of sentiments onto some foam pads and then stick them onto the card front.

.

• Step 5: Cut a piece of acetate to the size of 8½" x 7" and then score off at ½", 1", 7½" and 8". Here we used the Curious Cats Luxury Foiled Acetate which mariries up perfectly with the bunting pattern featured on the paper.

• Step 6: Use a strip of red liner tape to attach the 1½" and 8" sections behind the card to create the dome like shape.

• Step 7:  Finally, glue your finished piece to a card base and then you're done!
