'The power of words has the ability to transcend

To even the hardest to reach of places'

Every project tells a story

Once upon a time,

On March 20, 1991, Sweden celebrated its first “All Storytellers Day.”

As other nations caught wind, the day soon came to be known as World Storytelling Day and a network of stories was born. 29 years later we continue to celebrate this day on a global scale. Stories from individuals of all backgrounds, ages, and gender reverberate from ear to ear around the globe.

Storytelling is a part of our DNA. Stories make us who we are and tell us where we came from. They create a safe place, a sanctuary where we as individuals are able to explore and live out our dreams and fantasies. We are temporarily transported into a realm of wonder and time as we see the world through a characters eyes from 10, 50, 1000’s of years ago and 10, 50, 1000’s of years into the future, and even possible realities that are of another world altogether. Unfathomable stories from the past, the future, myths, legends, fiction and non-fiction. Stories are very much alive and are an indispensable way of seeing the world.

Get involved this World Storytelling Day: together or privately, orally, through music, the medium of dance or theatre – however you choose, make it your own and just take part!

Everyone has a story, what's yours?
