The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022

This June marks 70 years that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been reigning over Great Britain and Northern Island. The Queen will become the first ever British Monarch to reach this incredible milestone.

Below, you can find out more about the Queen, how she came to reign and what you can do to celebrate her time on the royal throne!

Below we have also included some exciting downloadable freebies that you can print out and try for yourself!

The Beginning of Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen started her 70 year long reign on the 6th February 1952 and still continues on with her duties today.

You may ask, why are we throwing a Jubilee in June if the Queen gained her title in February? The 6th of February 1952 also marks the date when her father, King George VI, died unexpectedly when the Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) was just 25. Due to the long period of mourning that followed, the Queen's coronation day didn't take place till the following year in June 1953.

Today, Queen Elizabeth II has become a much loved and respected figure across the globe. She is widely known for her strong sense of duty for the UK and the Commonwealth during these times of constant and enormous social change.
